Welcome to Nockamixon Township

WELCOME TO NOCKAMIXON TOWNSHIP

Nockamixon Township is a scenic, rural community. If you are new to the area, it is important to know that there is no public water or public sewer systems; understanding and caring for your well and on lot septic system is essential to protecting our natural resources.

Our groundwater supply is the only source of drinking water in the Township. This welcome packet from the Bridgeton, Nockamixon, and Tinicum Groundwater Management Committee (BNTGMC) will help you to understand your part in keeping our township’s water supply safe. The mission of the BNTGMC is to support the local townships in their efforts to ensure a safe and adequate water supply for their residents. Through such activities as tracking groundwater levels, compiling a water quality database, conducting scientific studies, regulatory reviews, and educational programs, the committee helps residents to assess their drinking water’s safety and availability.

We have also included information about maintaining your septic system, which also plays a vital role in protecting your drinking water. Maintaining and pumping your septic system every 3 years protects your septic system. Residents of Nockamixon must send a copy of their septic pumping receipt (Ordinance #147 Sewage System Maintenance) via email to  or mail to 589 Lake Warren Road, UBE PA 18972. Household products containing toxic chemicals, like pesticides, solvents, and weed killers should never be poured into a sink or on the ground as they can pollute the water and ground. Careful disposal of household products and responsible use of lawn care products helps protect our groundwater supply.
